Sofia is a Consultant radiologist at UCLH, specialising in head and neck imaging. She graduated from the University of Oxford in 2007 and undertook radiology specialist training in London. She was appointed as a Consultant after completing a fellowship in head and neck radiology at UCLH. She has recently been part of the team involved in introducing thyroid radiofrequency ablation to UCLH, the first centre to offer this treatment in the UK.
Thyroid Radiofrequency Ablation: Our Experience
As the first centre in the UK to treat benign symptomatic and autonomously functioning thyroid nodules with radiofrequency ablation, we describe the process for introducing this new procedure at our institution, our experience of undertaking thyroid ablation, and report the outcomes for our first cohort of patients.
