Cardiac PET-CT : Rubidium-82 Myocardium Perfusion & 18F-FDG Cardiac Sarcoidosis
Myocardial perfusion imaging with 82Rb PET-CT has gained increased confidence in Europe/UK due to improved diagnostic accuracy and reduced radiation dose compared to SPECT.
18F- FDG PET has significant advantages in assessing disease activity and monitoring treatment response in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis. Combining Rb-82 myocardium perfusion with 18F-FDG will characterise the FDG avid myocardial lesions.
