Cognitive Issues in Multiple Sclerosis

43-70% of PwMS will experience cognitive changes. Early recognition, assessment and treatment are important because cognitive changes can significantly affect a person’s quality of life and are the primary cause of loss of employment. Health care professionals working with people with MS should understand cognitive challenges PwMS face and be flexible and creative when providing new information or teaching new skills. This seminar will discuss the cognitive changes and provide some strategies for supporting PwMS.
